proper way to set up decoys
i have 2 hens and 1 jake
what is the best way to set these decoys up hens pointing toward me, toward the tom, tom pointed towards me or away what do you guys find works best when using decoys thanks for the advice good luck to all this season |

thisis is a very good question i would like to here someideas on this as well sence this is my 3rd year hunting turkeys and dont no to much

ORIGINAL: jimmy the foot i have 2 hens and 1 jake what is the best way to set these decoys up hens pointing toward me, toward the tom, tom pointed towards me or away what do you guys find works best when using decoys thanks for the advice good luck to all this season (keeping your decoys approx 20 yards away) Face the jake decoy towards you in a spot that will give you the best shot. A gobbler will go first to the jake and will usually approach it from the front, hence offering you a chance to move your gun when he's in full strut because his tail fan will be blocking his head. Face the hens away from your set-up a short distance away from the jake.A gobbler will usually approach a hen from the rear, and if in full strut, again offering you a chance to make your move. Lastly you may want to try setting the hen decoy on the ground and support it from falling over by placing two stick on each side, then place the jake decoy on it's stake almost touching the hen decoy from behind. This will get a rise out of a gobbler for sure!! |

you need to face the hens away from you and the jakes towards you cause the tom is gonna show dominance and is gonna go around the hen to the front of the jake and give you a shot I am dead serious this is the way to do it Go get them
