adding motion to decoys
Any ideas? I read the post about little skis to pull the decoy but once you pull him in you have to go and reset him. Too much movement. I've seen the bobble head decoys, what about adding some fishing line and just jiggling it once in a while ? Has anyone tried this? Would it possibly help to bring in a hung-up gobbler. If so this may have helped me on opening day. I'll give it a try next time out!

RE: adding motion to decoys
I've actually attached a small loop to the chest of a feeding hen decoy, tied fishing line to it and ran the fishing line back under the deke (along the ground) all the way to my blind (10 yds). When the line is tugged on,
it will cause the head of the deke to move down...like a feeding motion. This setup has filled several tags for me, though it has been a couple years since I've used it. To be honest, I just got tired of dealing with the fishing line getting tangled up. Unfortunately I needed some motion yesterday, 6 of 7 longbeards hung up at 30-50 yds from my blind...the 7th actually ran away at the sight of my dekes. I think a couple of 'tugs' on a deke with fishing line would have worked wonders. |

I'm gonna try that next time, can't hurt. Lord knows I've got plenty of fishing line around. Just don't leane it in the field!
