I shoot a 12ga, 3in.,4 shot 1 7/8 oz. pellet, I patterned yesterday and was satisfied with 20-23 bb's in the head and neck area at 30 yards. Always have had a standard that in the 20's is goodand have taked 8 birds with that theory, even a couple at 45 yards. Good Luck, be ready for a sore shoulder!!! Took me 10 shots to get me scope and pattern the way I wanted it!!

Any yardage out 40 yards I would say 3as a minum;)

Now if you have a decent pattern at 30 you should get some were around 15-20 hits:D

i just got back from the range a few minutes ago, i only got six in the kill zone at 30 yds. I shot too low the first and too high the second, and my shoulder couldnt take another shot. i will have to do some quick yard work to make a few bucks so i can buy a sight for my gun. At the time i was using winchester supreme 12g 3in 2oz #4, but i have 3 federal mag shok 3in 1 7/8oz #4s shells, i will give those atry next time.
