Hunting times?

I know the best time to hunt turkeys is daybreak, but are they also active during late afternoon?

Actually I,ve heard it said that daybreak is the worse time to tip a gobbler over. You get a gobbler talking up in the day, and he's very killable. Hens are off nesting, and tom is still out there lookin' for love. The more I hunt the more action I catch late morning into the afternoon. But I wouldn't miss sunrise and all roost gobbleing for nothing!

Make sure it's legal in your state. They vocalize less in the afternoon. In Illinois you can hunt until 1pm, in wisconsin until 5pm
