RE: Anybody in team #3

SO what doe's a captain do & what do team member's have to do.
How do we score our birds & when do we have them in?
Is there a deadline date?
Do we have come up with a team name?
So many questions.

Rob/PA Bowyer 03-18-2006 08:31 PM

RE: Anybody in team #3

Well when I ran the bowhunting contest, team capts over saw their team, kept in contact and was the go to guy for questions to the moderator running the contest, in this respect that would be Pat Ely.

Members need to check in from time to time for comradorie, updates, having fun and hopefully kill a bird to help the teams score.

You score the turkey using the system posting in the rules and here:
http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/turkey_score.html

Read the rules for deadlines, keep checking in to see.

Yes, we should come up with a team name, that we can discuss when the rest of the team checks in.

Questions? Keep them coming.

Just checking in....We don't start until April 10th if memory serves me correctly and that is if you opt for the 1st season which is very short. Things probably won't get rolling here until at least the middle of April.

Good luck to all...

drhntr178 03-19-2006 05:14 PM

RE: Anybody in team #3

Let the games begin!! Hunting Georgia April 1-6, South Dakota 15-21, and then my home state Missouri.

From Pat's rules, I understand we can only check in one turkey. So I figure it would be best to wait to check in the biggest one. Hopefully thats okay.

Gook luck everyone on Team 3. BTW, anybody got a team name yet?

Checking in here. I will be hunting NY and PA, possibly VT as well. I won't be hunting with a gun this year though, I will only be bowhunting for them.

Rob - Now we are definately going to have to meet up for a few hunts. ;)

Hello teammates!

I'll be starting my season Mar. 25 down on FL public land. Doubt I'll have a chance to call one in for myself as we're trying to get our boys their first osceola. But it'll be fun.

Best of luck to all this year!

If we need a team name, here's a couple to get the brainstorming going:

Wingbones
J-turds
3 1/2 inchers

Hello team,

Just checking. I'll be hunting in South Central Kansas season opens April 12th here but i'll be limited to weekend hunting due to being at College. Although I had 100% success rate last year for myself and taking my buddies out. Should be a good season counted 300+ birds on our property so we'll see.

A possible team name: Feather Dusters

Yo, yo, yo...in the house!!!

Rob you the man in my book, you can have that title any time ;)

I'll be hunting in NY sparingly (month of May) and primarily in CT (May4-27).

Rob, you ever do any out-of-state hunts? I may be able to get some land to hunt if you want to do an out-of-state for your video...drop me a PM if interested. Soon though, we need written permission in CT...

How about something different for a name...like "The Hairy Eyeballs" or "The Snowcone Killers"...

jrbsr I like your second offering on the logos much better than the first. To my old eyes the first one is to cluttered...Not trying to be a critic, after all I am not an artsy type guy....The picture in your avatar is nice too..:)

RE: Team #3's Official Roost

Team 3, I was down in Georgia for opening weekend and I killed a big boy. It weighed 28 pounds and had a 11 inch beard. One spur was 1 1/4 and the other 1 3/8. I'm getting him mounded, but I got a lot more hunting left. I'm originally from georgia, but since I'm military i reside in dayton ohio. If anyone's ever up my way, shoot me a message. I'm with knight and hale and I film all of my hunts. Take care and good luck to all!

Sweet is all I can say.

This is what the score says in the NWTF score site
I redid the score
28 lb 6 oz
spur 1 1/4 spur 1 3/8 beard 11 inch

Your score is 28.375 + 12.5 + 13.75 + 22 = 76.625

Congratulations Big Time

Sweet is all I can say.

That is one nice bird.

Since I had to minimize the overall file, the quality is terrible. If there is a way to post a pic of my bird with great detail please let me know. Other than that thanks for the compliment! GOD bless!

RE: Team #3's Official Roost

I'm here lurking, ya'll can decide what you's want for a name. You guys have some good ones so far......

I have a lot of plans for this season...ordered a second tag and have some prime area....I'm really confident on scoring a bird but hunting is hunting. ;)

I'm calling/guiding opening day for a local television show, also dragging along a camera man for most of the season to gain footage for HeadHunters Vol III....

Good luck out there guys, be safe.
