Bmac,
Not sure, this is my first year. I do know my buddies seem to get big birds every year. Seems the best place to bag a decent size bird is the northern part of the state as well as the thumb area, toward Saginaw. But, as with anywhere in this state, most animals can be had ANYWHERE!
Hope you get the chance to hunt the state!

Have any of us killed a bird yet? Just wondering, I looked on the score forum and didn't see any, my season doesn't start for about a month.

Hey guys I was just checking in to tell ya'l that I went this mornin' and had a bird roosted on the edge of a cow pasture that I have permission to hunt. He started gobbling just before daylight. When him and two hens flew down they seen my decoys and we yelpede two times and they come a runnin'. I shot him at 18 yards. and he folded. He had two beards one 10 1/4in. the other 4in. he had 1 1/8in. spears on both sides and he weighed 19lbs. It was also my first turkey. It scored 70.25.
