Do briley chokes tend to pattern well? I don't her e about them much.

You said it... You don't hear much about them... Obviously nobody else has either;) Why take a chance on them when there are known choke companys like Kicks,Comp-n-Choke, Undertaker, Tru-Glo...If you want a good choke get a Kicks Gobblin Thunder... I've got a Tru-glo for coper plated loads and a Undertaker for my Hevi Shot loads:)

I have a briley x-full in my nova. I have always bow hunted turkeys until I moved to south Alabama, where there are fewer turkeys. Anyway, a buddy bought me the briley choke and I felt obligated to use it this season. I bought about 10 different loads and patterned it. I got as good a pattern as many of those othersI have seen on this website. I ended up using the Federal flight control 3" with # 6's. The Winchester Supreme 3 1/2" # 5's and the Remington Hevi shot # 6's in the 3 1/2" were tied for 2nd. All had over about 20 shots in the spine and brain at 30 yards. That seems fine for an old bow hunter who is used to trying to get them to 20 yards anyway.

I just bought the Briley x-full turkey choke for hevi-shot. I am going to pattern it with several loads and compare to other chokes. I will let you know the results. BTW I am shooting a benellie SBE.

The briley I bought added 10 yds to my effective killing range. I think thier entrance into the turkey choke market is only recent with the Hevi-shot turkey version but they are hardly rookies at choke making. Excllent results for me and like the name says it is safe for Hevi loads unlike Comp 'n Choke and some others.

I agree with OntElk, Briley chokes have been around for many years. I don't know how long they have been in the turkey market, but I have purchased one for my Franchi I-12. I can't tell you how happy I am with the choke, shoots best with Federal Ext. Range #6's (3 inch). At 40 yards, I had 89 pellets in the kill area. I haven't shot over 40 yards, but with that performance, I would not hessitate shooting over 45 or 50 yards.

You should really think seriously about entering the NWTF still target champion ship;)

I was disqualifed last year because my gun put to many hit's in the 3" circle... Rob Keck did come over and ask if I wanted to sell my turkey gun...

He's a heck of a nice guy... Invited me to come out to his place in Edgefield for a hunt... I had to decline... I told him i only hunt public land and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself for killing 5 gobblers in one week end[:-]

i have a brily choke tube made for hevi- shot. i use this choke in my ben.nova. i have been shooting hevi shot # 4 and last year i killed 7 longbeards, the longest was at 64 yards and another at 55yards. all the rest was alot closer. i did not realize they were that far, i normally dont shoot that far. sometimes i just get caught up in the moment. so i personally have had good luck with this set up...
