Hand clippers/ratchet cutters

does anyone carry these while they're turkey hunting. i noticed the h.s strut people carry them and it got me to thinking of how many times i had been forced to try and find a tree that didn't have branches around the bottom. would it be a good idea to get a pair and put them in my vest or is it a waste of money and space??

I carry a small sheathed saw!Just like cm talked about if I have time,I add natural vegetation to some of my set-ups as well and remove those limbs in my shooting lanes!;)

They are also great for cutting the legs off of deer when you are skinning them out. Use the kind that have the ratchet and it will save you a lot of time and energy. You wont have to use a saw or hatchet.

I have been carrying a pair for years in my vest as well. I have the original ratchet pruners made by Florian. These work very slick indeed!!
For cutting branches to use as a blind, or cutting saplings that are in the way when your setting up. Every turkey hunter should carry a pair in his/her vest.

I never go hunting without ratchet pruners and a folding saw. The pruners see LOTS of action. Many times, the branches I cut for shooting lanes get used to help break up my outline by placing them in front of where I'm going to be calling from...

They are invaluable tools for the field. I think Gerber sells them both in a kit that's fairly inexpensive and they are of excellent construction.;)
