Does the NWTF establish the seasons.....
 
or does the individual state DNR?
And if they do, how they estblish when the season opens and closes?

Nope the DNRs set the seasons. As to when, they figure it according to when it gets warm and what is the time frame that turkeys traditionally begin to breed. They try to end the season just before hatching and most of the laying so as to not disturb hens or damage hatches. It starts I believe this month in Florida and a couple others, but up in new york and some of the eastern states, doesnt start till May because of the warmth and the breeding period! [8D]

Our season starts here April 8. The Arkansas game and fish sets our seasons. I cant wait.

No - the NWTF is an organization of turkey hunters.

The seasons are set by individual State Wildlife Agencies.

the dnr sets it here in sc it always opens march 15 th in selct counties and april 1 st where i live .
