Turkey hunting in VA?

Hey all

Im in the Harrisonburg area, and was wondering where the closest turkey action in the state was. Turkey hunting really isnt as big around here as it is some other places, but I was curious since i was thinking about getting into it. Any VA guys out there?

I would check out the National Forests in your neighborhood. There is quite a bit of it in Augusta, Bath, and Rockbridge counties. Get out there and scout it out and get far away from the roads and you may score a bird.

Hey, I used to live there!!! I live in WV, now.
I used to work for WVPT!!!
When I worked there a buddy used to take me to a place next to the WVVA border to deer hunt. I'm sure a few toms around there to.
All I can remember is you head toward Brandywine, WV.

Good luck!!
