i jused wanted to know do you use a owl call or a crow call for locating turkeys????

I've never had a turkey gobble to an owl call. I have had much more success with a crow call. I still use an owl call 1st thing in the morning or if I try to roost them in the evening, but I've never had any luck with one.

Both,at all times of the day.I have even had toms gobble in mid-day at my hoot.Owls do hoot during the day too!But generally I mainly use the crow during mid-day along with my box,for making cutts,and hoot in the mornings,and evenings.

An owl call where I hunt is much more effective on getting a shock-gobble out of a bird. I have heard them gobble to crows too, but just more consistently to an owl.

One time I let my truck door slam and heard a gobble to it...

Dumb birds.

I've had much better success with the owl call -- as long as it's in an area that doesn't get "owl called to" every evening and morning! I hear lots of gobbling to real crows, but apparently the turkeys don't think MY rendition of a crow call sounds as good as I thought it did! ;)

i used to be a firm believer in the owl call in the a.m. and the crow in the afternoon..........not after last year, it was still dark and the turkeys couldnt get enough of the crow call, so i'll mix em up a lil this year....

Coyote howler at daybreak and evening.Honker flute and crowcall from morning to mid-day..No luck with a owl hooter around our parts..:)

Yeah, they will both work at any time of day depending on the bird and area. I sometimes use my duck and goose calls as well if I'm just not getting a response. I've even heard them gobble to shotgun blasts lol

OWL EARLY MORNING, CROW MID DAY,I'VE EVEN SLAMMED MY TRUCK DOOR,AND HAVE HEARD COWS MAKE THEM GOBBLE.
