i like custom calls as well..........buy one locally because normally they are better tuned to local birds........

RE: Double vs. triple

I have a narrow pallet and the Quacker Boy mini-mags work well for me. I have tried the Legacy calls and use them on occasion, but they are very stiff to work with and too wide to fit well. I've tried trimming, but the stiffness is worse then.

Good replies guys - now another question...actually two...how long does it take to break in a call - so it sounds good and how long do you keep your calls? Do you replace every year or not?

RE: Double vs. triple

Um, um, um,. Well, um, um. I never really thought about that one. I've never really "broke a call in", I just have to get used to them.

Perfect example is the "Lost Poult" that I love now. When my buddy first told me to try it, I hated it. I couldn't make a sound with it. But I heard so many people sound so good with this call I was determined to "learn" the call.

And as of right now, its my favorite call.

As for keeping them. I've had some for three or four years now. I don't use them that regualary though. The ones that I use the most often, I replace every year.

RE: Double vs. triple

I use both. The double might be a little easier to use, while the triple will sound more raspy. Get one of each and practice with them both.
