Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I have to go with what a number of others have said. There are plenty of good guns that will fit the bill. I bought a Mossberg 835 Ulti-mag last year and absolutely love it. It shoots great patterns out to 50 yards and had no trouble dropping my two 20lb gobblers last year at ranges of 32 and 42 yards.

Whatever feels best to you. I shoot the Winchester 1300 pump. Not a glamorious gun but simply a workhorse.

When I first started turkey hunting I used my Rem 1100, then I bought the Mossberg 835 and loved that gun. Used it until this year because I got tired of being kicked like a mule everytime I shot it. Good friend of mine convinced me to trade in for a Franchi I-12 semi-auto, has 26" barrel with advantage timber camo. Have not shot yet, taking out this weekend and shoot some trap with it. Ordered a Brimley turkey choke for it and when it comes, will take out and pattern with some of my favorate turkey loads. Can't wait to see how it patterns.

I have used a Win 1300 12gauge 3"turkey gun, Browning BPS 12 gauge
3.5", Mossberg 835 3.5", and a Benelli SBE. I made all of them shooters
with the right shell loads and chokes. It just takes a little time and money
to figure out what works best in a particular shotgun.

A very subjective question. Best based upon what? Price?, Size?, Weight?, Recoil?, Fit?, Finish?, Gauge?, Action?, etc, etc, etc.............

One man's pleasure and treasureis another man's poison.[:-][>:] Semi autos kick less than pumps; pumps less than single shots.

Benelli® vs Berreta® vs Browning® vs CZ® vs Franchi® vs Itacha®vs Mossberg® vs Remington® vs Stoeger® vs Winchester® quickly becomes a moot point. As an example I shoot left-handed; Browning®, Ithaca®, and Mossberg® are my pump guns of choice. Others would not use then for canoe paddles. My son does best with a Winchester® Pump; the safety is all wrong for me. Ditto for a Benelli® Nova.

I have Brownings worth thousands of dollars; yet, they pattern no where near as well a a $239 Mossberg pump.Go Figure.
