Stop sanding and adjust how you hold the striker. Never heard of that call before. Watch how much pressure your applying when using the striker. It will work.

Make sure you hit the tip of your striker with some 100 grit sandpaper to rough up the tip. If you don't, it won't grip the glass properly and will squeak and skip across it. Try holding your striker at different distances from the tip and see if that helps also.

Also, you'll want to call on the outer third of the call, not on the rim but about an inch in or so, the closer you get to the rim the sqeaker it will sound......

If your turning your skin white holding the striker, your holding it a little tight. Loosen your grip, you need only hold it firm enough to control it and allow different down pressures until you feel you've got the sound you need. It doesn't matter what call, glass, slate, alum or what not. Hold your striker straight up, slightly tilt it away from yourself and make small ovals...alot of people with go back and forth and not get the whole range of the yelp....small ovals or footballs will assist you in getting the yyyeeelllppp instead of a eeeerrrr, eeeerrr sound....

Alot of glass calls are smooth when they come out of the package, but you need to rough them up before you can get sound out of them. Don't worry that the call is white and not clear. You should be sanding in one direction only, (some people do large circles, but I prefer straight) and drag your striker across the direction of the sanding. Positioning and grip of the striker as mentioned above is important.

Make sure you are sanding in one direction not little circles or all different ways. Then hit the tip of the striker with the sand paper a little. Should work just fine.

You might want to get a video on friction calling... Cody calls has a very good video on how to use a slate/glass friction calls...
