RE: Turkey scent ?

lol, I actually DO remember seeing a turkey scent called, "Hot hen scent" that was marketed back in the mid/late 80s about the time deer scents really started catching on getting big. I think it was one of those, "Hey why not, enough buy it we'll make a fortune before everyone realizes it's a hoax" kinda thing. I can't for the life of me imagine a bird having a sense of smell (if they do they must be MISERABLE in captivity, ever smelled a poultry farm? [:'(][:@]).

LOL I'm surprised some "expert" hasn't produced a commerical on The Outdoor Channel that features them walking around the spring green woods with their snake boots on featuring drag pads soaked in "ode de whorehen"!!!

The funny thing is that turkeys do smell, they just can't smell it. I grew up running deer dogs and some guys would get so mad when I told them their dogs were running a flock of turkeys.

One guy even cussed me out. Later that year, the president of the club told the guy that he owed me an appology b/c he also seen that guy's dogs running a flock of turkeys.:)

Here it is.Brings them public land gobblers in on a string. So lethel it should be illegal
I want to know where you can get it.

I have heard of people useing turkey scent as cover scent for deer hunting.
After all deer and turkeys are in the same woods.
And they are used to each other.
So a deer thats smells a turkey will be more at east.

I never heard of useing it to lure a turkey.
I supose a hen ready to be bread would give off a scent,
That a tom could smell.

At any rate I would like to get some.

So where can it be bought at ?

Thank You

jrbsr, I don't think they make that stuff anymore, due to a commercial "FLOP". Most felt it wasthe ultimategag anyway, and hence it left the shelves due to lack of sales.

Well you guys are missing a great opportunity. Let's bottle some tap water and market it under "estrous turkey". I'd bet we make a buck.;)
