RE: YEARLY BAG LIMIT

Two bearded birds in the spring, but they can't be shot on the same day. Then one bird, either sex during the fall season. I'd gladly give up the fall bird for another chance at a spring gobbler!!

RE: YEARLY BAG LIMIT

In Mississippi it is 3 birds with beards longer than 6 inches. Kids, less than 16, can have one of their three with a beard of any length.

Earlier in the thread, why are we allowed so many deer and turkeys in the southern states? Yes, we do have that many. If you look at the deer and turkey populations of La, Miss, Ala, Ga and other southern states you will find that we probably have 3 to 5 times the amount of deer or turkeys compared to many other states. Miss just released that despite the generous numbers of deer allowed the herd would be over 1.7 million this year and is growing by 3 to 5 percent (or more) every year.
