It's gonna be real hard.16 ga is a dying breed.There is another option.They make reducers so you can shoot a 20ga shell in a 16ga gun.That may be an option.

Lorge, I use only the Remington 2 3/4'' Express Long Range 1 1/8 oz. #6 shot out of an old 16 ga. 1938 Fulton double and had no problem taking a tom at 42 yds. last year. Many a turkey has been killed with "non-turkey " loads. It just isn't necessary...Call sparingly, sit still, know your limits. Good calling! Tony!

Remington has brought back the 16 gauge in their 870 and 1100 series of shotguns. So I think the 16 gauge is making a comeback of sorts.
It would be a bit better gun than the 20 gauge and not as heavyof recoil as the 12 gauge. Great compromise. Personally, I'd stick with a 12 gauge in the 3" chamber. Tuff to beat.
