Need a turkey choke for my Mossberg.

I have a Mossberg 12 ga model 500 with a vented barrel that uses the accu II choke system. The full choke gives me a nice pattern but I think I can get a better pattern with an extra full choke. I use Winchester double xmagnum turkey loads in 3 inch 2oz #5 shot. Can any one recommend a good turkey choke that will fit my barrel. Thanks in advance.

I use the Mossberg factory choke on mine. It extends and makes the 28" barrell even longer, but it has never bothered me -- and I hunt in woods most the time. It patterns well also, but I like to keep my shots under 40 yds.

I have the 835 and have used many different choke tubes and my 2 favorites are.

1.Kick's Gobbling Thunder .670
2 Rhino

I've used a lot of different chokes. I've found that the Hastings Chokes pattern the best for my 835. They may be expensive but are well worth the money.

I've found 3 inch Winchester HV with a 1 7/8 oz load to out perform the 2 oz load. One of those situations where "less is more" and its flying at a higher velocity. It takes less work for the same powder charge to send the lesser load down the barrel. The lesser load also accepts constriction in the choke tube better preventing the load from spewing, keeping a tighter patern. A tighter pattern with conetic energy = a deader Turkey

These folks will turn you a custom tube for about 2/3 the cost of the big name brands, mine shoots an awsum pattern.

I hunt with a Mossberg 500 and have a mossberg 670 xx-f turkey choke. Effective knock down at 50 yards. I use Federal 12ga 6 shot turkey loads. Cant go wrong with Federals. Arrowmaster

I have a mirror polished barrel and 5X Full Hastings(I think) chokeon my 500. And I win lots of turkey shoots:D

Go to Brownells.com and look at chokes.

I traded my 500 for an 835 last year but after using it for a season I traded it back to the guy. My 500 shoots better then the 835 even with the extra 1/2 of shell and shot[:'(]

Thank you all for the help. I went to the Mossberg web page and found 2 chokes. I'm getting the X-Factor Extended Ported Turkey Tube. It is a XX- Full- Ported. Mossberg wanted 36 bucks but I found it at rrarms.com for $31.18. Now I cant wait to pattern it. Thanks again for all the help guys. Callemin.

If you ever decide to switch, try a Kick's. On my Mossberg, shooting a 3 1/2" Federal #6 load through an Extra-Full Kick's choke flips 3'x3' boxes right over spinning in the air at 30 yds. That is my method to patterning the gun before the season. Never seen a choke so devastating. I highly doubt you will be disappointed if you get a Kick's, that is if you are shooting lead.
