Bobcat problem
 

I just saw a bobcat catch a young turkey and was amazed how fast it happened . The turkeys were feeding along near the edge of the field one minute and the next they were all in the air . The cat took it out of the air about three feet off the ground . Guess that I'll have to start hunting cats a bit more . Its getting bad when you start seeing them from the back deck .This is the first time I ever saw one in action before ,usually thier running or just up a tree ,not hunting something.

i would have cried! thats terrible i would be out there getting him soon as season opened! they shouldnt kill our turkeys! only we can do that! that would be wild to watch...i can only imagine their lighning speed...terrible thing though...gess thats part of life though...

Hey Halcon,

You are in Oregon right? Bobcats are increasing in numbers because since the ban on dogs for big game, most people have gotten rid of their dogs.

What are the game laws for bobcats? Any restrictions?

Grab that same turkey gun and start calling them cats. Them 3 1/2's from knock them dead too. Thans what I do.. the bobcat numbers are on the rise rise big-time here. And I'm just trying to do my part to keep them in check.

Japeter They are considered a predator and I don't believe they are protected ,but I would check just to be sure .Somethings come under the protection of furbearers but aren't protected in the game book. Racoons are one I know from talking to the local game biologist that is protected because it is a furbearer .
