What part of NY gives out 3 tags! And what part allows 2 in the same day?

Yeah really. What's that all about?

My experiences so far have jived with the above post about birds being off the roost early. I've gone twice so far and both times the birds were on the ground by 5 AM. 1st time in Dutchess County on private land, second time in Sullivan County on public land.
I'm going back this coming Sunday with an improved plan of action to take on those Sullivan County toms one more time.

Guys,

I think we should assume that if he's still hunting, he was obviously hunting with other people who also filled tags...[&:]

My brother hunts Otsego county, and the birds have not been vocal since the 2nd week of April. He'll get an occassional morning with 2-3 gobbles, but that's about it. Birds are still very henned up, and working the fields/strut zones overtime.

I'm with strut... Let's use some insight and assume that others hunters are involved.

I'm hearing no gobbles in my local "hotspots" (no longer hot)

I'm persistant though, 18 days of 4:00 AM wake ups

It's only a matter of time :)
