Help with trail cams
I am new to all this but require a trail cam that connects to satelite and can send pictures to my phone. What I keep finding are cellular cams that send pics... or satellite cams that don't have the feature to send pics. Can anyone recommend a satellite trail cam that sends pics to phone... or someone with high knowledge of cams?

I use Stealth Cams. The camera has to be in an area where it can pick up cell service. They work great and you can have multiple cameras. Will send pictures directly to your phone.

excalibur43, have you tried the Stealcam Reactor? I have always enjoyed the Stealthcams. Mine has always been the ones that you have to walk in to check. So I am planning on upgrading mine to see what’s in there without walking in anymore than I have to.. Thanks for any input you may have..

Any update here?

I went and bought a Stealthcam Reactor and it wouldn’t pick up the data plan for me. So in short it has failed to work for me. I called customer service and they walked me through all the steps. It still didn’t work even for them. So it’s getting sent out for a free replacement and being upgraded to the next one up. I know that I was quite disappointed and wanted to try it out in my back field area. But, I guess you can get a lemon in anything. I have always used those Stealth trailcams and have enjoyed them over the years. This is my first cellular trailcam and it’s not the best way to start off with it.

What I don't like about the cameras that send pictures to your phine is you myst also buy a plan from your cell phone company and pay for the pictures.

So must have cell coverage for the Stealthcam? Seems iffy when I cannot even get good reception at my house.

I agree but, wanted to try one in a hard to get to area. Even then I am taking a gamble that it would be getting a strong enough signal to send the picture out. Those signals are not that great in the areas I end up in..
For what it's worth, I have Spypoint and Tactacam Reveal cameras. Both have proven reliable. The Tactacam's have superior images but they are higher priced models. The Spypoint's were easier to set up and start transmitting. I had much more difficulty with the Tactacam's and had to call customer service twice to get them up and running. |
