most of my Canadian deer hunts have been in Alberta and BC, I have hunted a bunch of area's and places over the yrs, in Canada besides them, but that's where I have done most of my hunts, in Canada!
so no real one spot or area for me!
for me, I always enjoyed seeing different parts of states or provinces , so tried to hunt different area's rather than keep returning to same area's over and over, thought I have hunted a few spots back to back yrs!
I have also known a bunch of folks from all over Canada, that have had me up in off season to visit and or back to hunt(some times just tag along, with them hunting ), also used to snowmobile trial ride a lot in Canada too yrs ago, mostly on the eastern side of things(Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick)
one thing I do seem to notice however is, northern Canada, or Canada in general (same can be said here in the states) as it seems most area's just don't seem to have the COLD temps and winters they used too, I recall hunting back in the late 80's early 90's and temps would be in the minus 40 and lower at times and always had snow, in northern AB< BC, SASK> , they were known for some super low temps when deer hunting , taught you for sure how to dress to stay warm, or you were in for a long cold day !
but the last decade or more, snow and cold doesn't seem as reliable as it used to be,
not sure that makes hunting better or worse LOL
as them cold temps used to make deer have to feed more, but warmer temps make sitting all day easier , so double edge sword I guess !!

That great to hear. Always lots of friendships formed in the outdoors. The weather is definitely milder now than it was back then but the rut still gets the big boys moving in mid November but the cold definitely helps get them out more frequently. With the milder temps they seem to be able to feed in the trees longer which makes them harder to get at.

yes meeting folks and making new friends has been one of the best parts of hunting different places for me,. cannot tell you how many great people I meet over the yrs tracing all over hunting(sadly meet a few really bad apples too)
as had I not been into hunting and willing to travel as I did, I would never have got to know so many new folks, made them friendships, and , seen all the great things this country has to offer!
its one of them things I think more hunters should do, travel out of there home state,a s a LOT don;t for many reasons, but from my experience, , it can be done pretty cheap if you do your part to see to it, and every trip I have had has been far more than worth there costs, between scenery, meeting new folks, and just enjoying the challenges of hunting a new place provides!
I wish I could travel to more places to be honest! but health issue's hold me back now a days, also, making me very glad I traveled all I did when I was younger and able to!
so heads up to anyone thinking about hunting else where, or even just traveling, I say DO it, and do it NOW<
down the road, the chance might not be there! as life sure has a way of changing things!
