I am going with a squirrel as well. I see small teeth marks in it they tells me this. You should have something on it that shows part of it..

Vote raccoon damage, those dudes will eat the batteries out of your cameras if they can get to them, one of most (next to rats and squirrels) destructive animals in the forest.

And squirrels are very clever, this is the squirrel captured by my WingHome trail camera, please have a look.

This is the funnest pic I have got in this summer, like a hide and see game between me and this cute squirrel, hope you can love it too.
