Best Trail Cam for under 100 Bucks
Im looking for a decent trail camera that I don`t have to go spend big money on. Any suggestions? under $100

I would be curious to know too! The cheap cameras I have picked up at Walmart worked for about 3 days. Luckily Walmart took them back for a refund. Two cameras for sure, maybe 3. Glad I did not order online.
|
I would not say there the "best" camera for under $100 but we have had good luck with the small sized Wildgame cameras. As with a lot of the Chinese made cameras, they seem to be hit or miss. I know many people don't like them but we have been running six or seven with good results.
|
I've had many cameras in different price ranges. The Wildgame Innovations cameras that are under $100 have given me the best output. I've got multiple of the Wildgame cameras & have never had any problems with them!

This was moved the to the Trail Camera Forum - maybe you will get some better ideas here.

I know you said around a 100 but I bought one of these last year and then another a few weeks later after trying it out. Stealth Cam STC-G42NG No Glo. I think I paid around 115. Gets the job done.
|
I just picked up a couple of Cuddeback Long Range C2 cams a few months ago for $149 a piece off of Amazon and they are doing great on batteries and the pictures look great.
|
I've had a Primos truth cam 35 for a couple years now (not the ultra). Just ordered 2 more this week, they are under a $100. Mine is good for the price, and they are user friendly.
|
I just put out a couple Moultrie A-5's. It may be a couple weeks, but I will post pics as soon as I check them. They get good reviews (along with the A-8 model). They don't have all the features of the more expensive models. Hopefully, they didn't sacrifice reliability.
|
Look at the Stealth G42NG for blackflash or G30 for IR. They are close to $100 and probably the best buy for that cost.

Wild game innovation blades work really well for me! I got a couple at academy here for $60 and they work awesome. Really easy to set up and figure out what's going on. I've had problems with the cheaper Moultrie and Browning cameras. All I run now are wildgame innovations! But at the end of the day the old saying "you get what you pay for" could be said here. Nothing more frustrating than putting a camera out for a couple weeks only to come back and realize it doesn't even work! Good luck!

I have browning, cuddyback, wild game, moultree and bushnell. Bushnell is by far the best. Reasons are : $99 , pir sensor has a hi med and low, field scan can be set to the minute and viewed easily. Best battery life, cam does not freeze in winter like some. Can set any amount of seconds between photos. Vid has sound, easy to set up. I get pics out to 80 ft or more. Windy days have less false triggers on low pir setting. 6mp,8mp,12pm agresser all the same set up and options. What other cam has these options for $99?
|
I'm sure there are a ton of good cameras these days. A few years ago I did some research looking for quality (inexpensive) cameras, and ended up buying Covert cameras.
They are pretty nice little cams. Good picture quality, small and compact, still or video options, and they come in infared or black. You can find them for under $100. My newest one is 2.5yrs old, has taken over 20,000 pics on its first set of 8 AA batteries - and they are still in it. That is being out in the woods from July to around end of Feb... through the bulk of 2 super cold winters. |
Aw spend 29 dollars more and get a browning strike force. It is an incredible camera for the money. I put 2 out 6 months ago with lithium batteries. I have taken thousands of pic and about 200 videos. The batteries still are in the high 80 percent range. The new ones are the same price but have a higher video resolution and a better display door. I am buying a third one this weekend due too how good a deal they are. Trailcampro agrees with all I said too.

I have tried many brands and paid over $300 for some to as little as 50. The best I have used so far would be my Browning recons which I found on ebay for 90$, next would be my bushnell's but I paid a lot more for those.
|
I have a browning strike force. The field scan is poor. I can not set the pir sensor. On windy days it takes lots of false pics! Field scan times can not be set accuratley or viewd easily with out a program!
|
I have had pretty good luck with Brownings and Bushnells. I have founds deals here and there (Cabelas, Natchez, etc.) and gotten several for under $100. Good picture quality, excellent battery life, easy to use. These are basically the only cams I will buy now after using many (Cuddeback, Stealth, Wildview).
After paying as much as $400 for cams, my motto is now "cheaper the better" (cost wise). Seems like no matter what the price for game cams they will crap out on you eventually (few-several years) so you are better with low initial investment and replace as needed. After reading some posts, I might try a WGI when I see a good sale(??). |
I just bought a Moultrie A-5 early this year for about $60 and so far its been an awesome camera. Will probably be buying a couple more of them.
|
Good info, thanks guys.

I've not much knowledge under $100 but khow that it is not easy to find a cam under $100 which will satisfy you. But this may help you. Few weeks ago I found this- https://gurucamera.com/best-cameras-under-100/
These 5 are one of the best of under $100. Let me know which one you gonna pick |
Looks like the OP was banned. Wonder if he is still following this thread?
|
The OP was banned by another mod last November, over a year after the last post was made before the topic was resurrected by the guy above you. Even as a banned member, the OP would still have the ability to look at this topic or any other as a visitor. I looked at the link posted by Kaplan and his link has nothing to do with the topic anyway.

The WingHome trail camera 350C and 290C are very good. Both of them are under 100$
I have had the WingHome 350C trail camera on a feeder taking 2000 pics a month non stop. The battery life is unbelievable. Takes very great pictures by the way. Here are the photos taken by my trail camera. http://www.winghomeview.com/winghome...under-100.html |

What are you feeding your deer? That one looks to be quite thin.. I enjoy my Stealth Trail Hawks |
I'm got a new pair Coverts and Bushnell Aggressor. I love them when they work--I've got some that keep powering down. But regardless of what you decide to go with e sure to check out this great article. Now, many companies will offer No Failures or lifetime guarantees that can make or break your decision.

I literally stocked up on the Wild Game Terras this past Christmas and picked up around 30 of them from Dicks Sporting Goods. They were $35 and payed an extra $5 for a 2 year warranty... Basic camera with no time-lapse or selectable trigger times but they can not be beat at that price point. Great day light pics and minimal if any blur at night. They are my go-to's over bait or any public land spots

These and don't look back for a basic model.
