Reconyx cams
 

I am interested in the Reconyx HC600 cam and was wondering how good these ones are, they seem pretty nice and there made here in the u.s.a. Just lookin for any experience anyone has had with them.

I have had about a dozen different trail cams. The Reconyx HC600 is so much better than the rest it is shocking; I have been using mine for 6 years and it is working just as well as it did the first time I used it.
It is very fast and takes the best pics. If you want cheap then look at the Browning they are the best for the price.

Longevity is always a plus, most cameras ive had (non trail cams) last only a couple years, so if the reconyx lasts thats awesome, i do not want to buy a new one every so often.

I have been using my Reconyx HC600 for the past 4+ years and love it. During that time I keep it in the woods 8-9 months a year (with a lock box) and it has taken 100,000s of pictures. With the lithium batteries and Wisconsin weather, I can use the same set of batteries for the entire 8-9 months (April - December). I would have bought a few more since then but I'm waiting for the cellular capabilities to be better in my area.

I very hesitantly bought a HC600 late this spring. Although I only ended up paying around $150 (Cabelas points) I still had a very hard time shelling out $550 for a game camera and nearly turned around and took it back. Anyways after using this camera for a week I was sold. The menus are simple and straight forward not to mention a great user manual, top notch build quality, simple and easy to use bungee strap to attach to tree. I also really like that you can check/setup the camera without having to remove it from the tree. this camera usually has 4-5 times the pictures as my cuddeback, which is only about 400 yards away. Picture quality is crisp and clear as are the night time pictures. A few times I thought I had some blank pictures, but after looking closely, there was a small doe way off in the distance behind some brush. Since late spring my batteries are still at 99% and this camera has taken well over 3000 pics. My cuddeback has maybe taken 200-300 pics and its down to 70%. My only gripe with this camera is the 10 second delay when arming the camera, 30 sec would be nicer, however I think if you just close it up and walk away it will self arm after 2 minutes.

I have owned cameras made by Cuddeback, Stealth Cam, Big Rack Trophy Products, Moultrie, Trail Timer, Recon Outdoors and Reconyx. The Reconyx cameras stand above all others in quality, batterylife, durability, etc.

The issue is price for me. I had a Moultrie stolen. The Moultrie was just over the hill from one of my Reconyx and it scared me so I sold the Reconyx cameras I had and bought 4 cheaper Moultries.
