Looks to me like you have some bad genetics, youll be seeing more and more deer like this untill you get rid of the deer with the bad genes

I was thinking the same...that buck needs culled...he looks to be 3.5yr old...and not a very good rack...but good body on him...

I think he is actually a 4.5 year old deer and yes I will be trying to cull him given the chance. This is first year in my 8 years of running trail camera's that I have gotten so many messed up looking bucks. We have not had this problem in the past but I have had at least 6 bucks of this nature already this year.

Make sure you shoot the doe that is spreading this gene.

To be perfectly honest that buck is on the down slide. That buck is older than others think. Look at his big sagging belly. He has been around for a while. The spike is just a spike.

Bad genetics indeed. Need taken out of the mix.
Around here we call that spike a "billygoat deer".
