are these good cameras? do the m80s have the motion freeze technology to help with blur? i saw m80s at dicks but it didnt say anything about it.

I am using 2 of the Moultrie M100 which is a higher version of the M80. Moultrie cameras when set to video, take a picture first, then the video. The field of view in the video is narrower than in the picture. Moultrie said this is how it downloads. Night video is limited to 10 second. Extending this per Moultrie, it would be harder on batteries. A one year manufacture warranty and emailing them, I've had excellent customer service. I would not recommend cameras with audio unless set up over bait where a couple of bucks might fight or turkeys are gobbling. The microphone is highly suseptible to wind noise. If you notice the large microphones the media use are covered. This is to stop wind noise.
Over all I have been very satisfied with these cameras. On fast movement any camera will show some blur, but normal walking, these have been excellent.
Another camera I highly recommend is the Bushnell Trophy Trail Camera. I have 7 of these and they work flawlessly. Bushnell offers a two year warranty. Excellent customer service.
Both cameras are, small, easy to conceal, easy on batteries. If you are in bear county or possible theft area, I strongly recommend lock boxes. Moultrie offers the better built design box.

I have a 2011 M80 and it does not have that function. I think it is a feature on the 2012 model.

how has your m80 been pastor jim? im mainly concerned about the night pictures are they good and how is the bluriness? could you post a few pics here from it? do you like the video or pictures better? thanks for any info.

The 2011's have the nightime blur. But they're decent otherwise. Still haven't tried the video. Samples of NOT moving vs moving.

I have only used mine in the video mode, that's the reason I got it. Overall I have been pleased with it but there a re a couple of things I don't like about it. First of all, the flash is so bright it can "wash out" the subject if it's too close. It also seems to be a little bit hard on batteries. I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10. Hows the Battery life on these? I'm not sure if these are the D cell ones but I have never had any luck with D cell cameras. The batteries don't last long enough to justify the lower cost. The pictures look good but I'm concerned about battery life with the Moutries. I can only check my cameras once every 6 weeks sometimes and don't want them to die 3 weeks in like some of my others.

These cameras use AA batteries. If you are concerned about batteries, install
the Lithium 8X. Lithium are a higher voltage battery. Testing these with a
digital meter, they show 1.79 to 1.83 volt fresh out of the package. They are
more costly than standard batteries, but would be worth the price. I am using
the Moultrie M100 and have been well satisfied with them. Moultrie cameras,

limited to 10 second. Moultrie said lengthening the night video would be harder on
batteries.
As for blur, the 2012 is supposed to have helped correct this as per their description.
Moultrie offers a one year warranty from the manufacture. They also list a black flash
for 2012.
