nice pictures! thanks for sharing. What a diverse camera collection you have...of all your cameras, which do you like the best?

penninside08 08-02-2011 11:42 AM

i have been wondering where you were...like always, great pics!

J Pike 08-02-2011 03:03 PM

Thanks guys!
Marquis I love the new M-80 but only because its more compact, uses 8 AA batteries and easier to change them, than the more bulky I-40 that uses 6 D batteries. But you cant go wrong with either.
I also love my Wildview Xtreme 4 & 5 flash cams. They are going on 5 years old and still going strong (other than one that got destroyed by ants and the couple that got stolen by theives last fall) Pike

Some nice pictures. This also gives a good comparison of camera brands, showing day and night pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Good stuff Jeff! May i ask that you post in your signature the year, make and model of your cams to let us know exactly which cams you're running. I intend to do the same eventually (if they ever get here so i can get em in the woods) Thanks again!

J Pike 08-02-2011 09:06 PM

Thanks again guys!!
lead next time I check my cams (in another 2 weeks or so) I will organize and post the pics by the make and model of each cam. for example I will post all the M-80 pics under M-80 pics, all the I-40 pics under I-40 all the BTC pics under BTC., etc. etc.
But currently I am running:
M-80's
I -40's
D-40's
D-55
D-55 IR
BTC's
X6C's
Wildview Xtreme 4 & 5's

Awesome! Thank you!

Now 1 question, From what i understand about ir cams 1 way they get more "light" in the nite pic is to have the shutter stay open longer but when they do that it also causes more motion blur in the pic. What im getting at is the new m80 has very bright nite pics and with your experience so far with this cam compared to your other ir cams that you have or run in the past how do they compare?

J Pike 08-03-2011 04:59 PM

Lead the M-80 is by far the brightest IR. cam I have seen. Im actually considering using some electrical or duct tape to cover up some of the lcd lights up to make them less bright. Pike

What about motion blur at night?

J Pike 08-03-2011 05:07 PM

Lead the blur isnt bad at all, this is about as bad as it gets.
Also the feeder in the back ground is 25 yards from the cam and the large tree behind the feeder is 30 yards, just to show you how bright the IR.'s are. Pike

J Pike 08-03-2011 05:17 PM

Lead for comparison, here is a couple pic's from one of my Wildview Xtreme 5 cams last year which have awesome white flash range on the same tree as the m-80 this year. You cant see the feeder in the back ground at all. Pike

leadoperator 08-03-2011 05:33 PM

I can live with that blur especially if you have it set to take more then 1 pic. Good comparison! As always, your a plethora of knowledge! Thanks again!
