Moultrie Trail Cameras

Hi, I've never owned a trail cam, but was looking at getting 2 for my birthday in August. The moultrie line interested me, so I was wondering if they were a quality camera, or if there is something better in that price range. Thanks

i think the best camera on the market right now for the money is the moutlrie m80...i have heard people getting them for about $120. The batteries last months and they take very very nice pictures

I used to recommend the moultrie line to people but now both of mine are rendered useless. One of them actually started smoking the last time I turned it on :(

Ok thanks. $120 was what I was looking for. Marquismarc, what do you recommend now?

In the $120 range you might look at the Wildgame Innovations X6C or the Primos cameras.

Blessings......Pastorjim

pastorjim08, would you rate them higher than the moultrie? they are a few bucks more (pun). What about a refurbished cuddeback for $130, is that a good deal?

I would find a plain scoutguard sg550 on sale for $149. I have the camo version and it is awesome. Great pics, reliable, long battery life and quick trigger speed. These cam get great reviews and have been out for a few years. Scoot

I'm sure they're nice scoot, but a bit out of my price range. I don't want to go much more than $120

Got two of these M80's this summer for $117 on a site online. Can't remember where tho now. These are the best bang for you buck that I've used. Course I only have 6 cams and they are all Moultrie so take it for what its worth. However i have done a loooooot of research online with the different cams. I'm a huge believer in value for the dollar when i buy a cam and i will tell you there is a ton of value in the M80 cams. the way the IR lights up the night is crazy for a $120 cam. I dare to compare to any cam in this price range and you will be amazed. The reason this is important to me as nearly every mature buck i see on my cams is at night, as we all know. Not to mention they are small, easy to setup, run on AA, etc, etc, etc. Give them a try!

I have six M-80's and love them!! I paid $120.00 each for them a couple of months ago but have recently seen them for $109.00. I did have issue's with one of them out of the box but Moultrie had a new one at my door 8 days later. You cannot beat this cam for the money. (and I own alot of cams)
My 2nd choice is the Wildgame X6C, which you cant go wrong with either.
These days there is no reason to spend more than $120.00 on a trailcam. Pike
