A Question For The DIY Builders.

How do you put a mic on a trail camera that doesn't have one?
Thats the only thing I don't like about mine.

Thank You.

The camera has to have the ability to record sound in the first place.

There has to be some way to add sound.

if the cam has no ability to record sound then it can't do it...plain and simple..least I know of no way...the above is an amplified mic...The DXG does originally have sound...just not near as good as that

Is it a commercial cam or a homebrew?

It is a commercial camera.

If it is a commercial cam and didn't have a mic on it to begin with, then it probably wouldn't work to add one. If it was a homebrew it already has the ability to add a mic.

If a commercial cam doesn't have a mic, i would guess it doesn't have the ability to record audio in the first place.

I will rephrase the question.
How would I add some type of recorder along with the camera, not attached to the camera, so it records when the camera takes videos, or pictures?.

Thank You

you'll need some sort of a recording device...ie tape recorder or whatever...maybe disconect the original mic on the tape recorder and put one like this in it's place http://www.dinodirect.com/Tiny-Spy-M...e-KZ-501D.html
it's an amplified mike...runs off of a 9 volt transistor battery..the sound and video will be separate and having it trigger "on" when video is on would be the hard part...not sure if it's even possibleyou'd be money ahead maybe with something like a DXG567v homebrew....(video with amplified sound)..you could get into one like this for around $225..(I BUILD AND SEND YOU)

I may have one for sale in about a month or so...(new build)
IF INTERESTED LET ME KNOW OK?

EXAMPLE: click pic for video! it will open a new browser in photobucket

this is a 30 sec. video...u can set for 15 sec. 30 sec.1 min or 3 min video
