If this is going to be your first camera, welcome to the addiction. If price is no obbject, then buy the best, Reconyx. You can get one for about $450.00 they are American made and everyone here will tell you that they are the very best camera out there, just pricey. Other decent cameras include the Spypoints, Bushnell Trophycam, the Primos cams, and the Leaf Rivers are really solid. Do you want white-flash or IR? Will the camera be used on feeders or only on trails? Do you want the camera just to see what is out there or do you really want great picture quality? All these things need to be considered when you are purchasing a camera. Whatever you decide, enjoy this activity. You can do it year-round and it's just like Christmas every time you check your camera.

Blessings.....Pastorjim

Just this past year I got into the trail cam addiction Ive bought 2 so far this year the Wildgame Ir4 and Primos Truth cam 35 (both under $100) they both take pic/vids day and night. The Primos cam is by far better. It has more options with a better picture/video quality, theres a place to put a lock on the cam, and the trigger speed is alot faster. The cams are set on trails and the edges of feilds. The reason I went with the cheaper cams was because the land I hunt is private but its shared by few other hunters. I've had a couple of things stolen from me while hunting this land. I will buy a couple more of the primos before the seasons end for next year.

I bought the SPYPOINT PRO-X and it's really in another league. 12 MP quality of image and sound recording on video mode. WOW !!!! Small in size and 3 inches built-in viewing screen. Hard to beat that !! My 9 year old kid can even set-up the camera easily. Not the cheapest cam to buy but worth every penny. Here are some pics of my PRO-X :
