Leaf River IR-7SS
 

Looking at adding a IR camera to my Cudde captures. Cabelas has the leaf rivers marked down a 100. Are the night time IR pics decent or the same as the Cudde Ir capture. Any other input on the Leaf river would be appeciated.

I have a Leaf River IR7SS. I have never used it in the picture taking mode, only video. The daytime videos are the best I've ever seen in a trailcam and the audio added a whole 'nother dimension. The IR videos did leave a little to be desired but it was very, very cold when I had it out so I don't know if that affected it or not. I haven't had it out this summer just because I have so many other cameras. Unless you are just dead-set on an IR camera, Leaf River also makes these with white-flash.

I don't have the 7ss but i have (2) DC-2BU's and (2) IR 3BU's. All four are 5-6 yrs old. Just send two of the in and had a 10-day turn around. Which I thot was great espescially on a older gen cam. They even upgraded the sensors. Pix have always been great. Customer service as well. Tried about 4 others now and the only thing I'd buy other than a leaf is a Reconyx. If I could afford'm. :)
