Why is my Moultrie doing this?
 

I was wondering if anyone else had their Moultrie 4.0 take daytime pics like this? Does anybody have a solution on how to fix the problem? I don't get why all of the sudden my daytime pics are pink, when it was taking perfectly clear pics?

WIbuckchaser: First, I do not own that brand of camera, but I had a similiar experience with my 2009 model Bushnell Trophy Trail camera. My cameras were all set for 30 second video with a 10 second delay. I had animals, particularily bears messing with the camera. In my case, if the camera got jarred or bumped while taking a video the color would be either off, half good, the other half a mixed color or going all red. The video time would also be shorter than the preset 30 second. If the camera didn't get bumped again, then the next video would be okay. In your particular case I would suggest: 1) shutting off the camera, remove and maybe after a few minutes, reinstalling a fully charged set of batteries. 2)Install another either formatted SD card or if your camera has the capability, reformat the card in the camera. Looking at the time spread between your pictures, I don't think your camera would have taken two bumps in a row. Other than the off color, your pictures are very clear. Hope this helps.

I have the I40 and just sent mine back because it is taking almost all IR pictures even during the day, from all the research I have done, this is the normal for Moultrie IR cameras if they are not in DIRECT DIRECT sunlight ;-( don't know if that is your problem or not, Moultrie just sent me an email saying my repairs are done and it will be shippped back soon, but I don't know if they replaced it or fixed it or if nothing was wrong and that is how its going to be. I would suggest like the Techs told me take the camera out into that field where the sun can get directly to it and see if takes normal color pics, if not i would def send it back

Well I don't think it's a sunlight issue in my case because I never had problems like this before with it. I've had this camera for 1.5 years and all of the sudden it starts doing this. Maybe a bear gave it a good whack, I don't know? Thanks for the input. I want to try a cuddeback.

I really don't think you would be satisfied with a Cuddeback, I wasn't. I just sold my 6 month old one on AT. It has a 30sec. delay between pics and I'm positive it misses alot of shots just because of it's sensor issues. If you're going to spend $200, I would suggest either a Bushnell Trophycam, one of the Spypoints, or a Primos Truthcam 60.

I had an I40 do that too and they told me to take it back. It is a problem with the light sensor and it causes the camara to use the IR lens even in daylight. Take it back if you can. You can't fix this.

How much do you figure they will charge me?

Thanks Jim. I wish someone could build a camera for $200 that's has a quick trigger, took quality pics, and would work flawlessly for the rest of my life.
All I know is that I want to try a different brand, I am just fed up with the slow trigger and the other issues starting to happen with this one.

A buddy of mine has 4 I40's and has had numerous problems with all of them and has sent each and everyone back and some more than once.
