A bucks growth.

I can't find my last pictures of this young buck before he lost his horns.
I am posting a picture from January of him with his spikes.
He finally dropped them in early April.
The following pictures ( after the January one ) are what his growth is this year.
As you can see by the dates his progress in growth.
I am very interested in seeing what he becomes after his January picture.

I am hoping this was his father from a year ago.
Note the picture, is was taken from the same tree.
A before and after picture.

He's gonna be a good buck this fall. How do you know its the same buck?

GTOHunter 06-11-2010 07:49 PM

He is going to be a very nice looking Buck....good thing about it also is your getting Day time pictures. All the older Bucks in my area are only coming out at night so I have all black & white IR pictures of my Bucks except for 2 young Bucks that show up at all hours of the day!

Not too sure now on the spike, but all the spring and summer pictures are of the same buck.

videos arent working for me, nice sequence of pics all along the way. if you had a reason for thinking this buck is the same as that spike i could see it being possible. i had a small 4 pointer last year that was a year old, barely had splits and this year he is a 115 class 8 pointer as a 2 year old

When the buck is facing to the left, look at his hip. There apears to be a scar just in front and up a bit. A lot of the pictures show this. I would say most of the pictures are of the same buck. Nice pictures and videos. Thanks for sharing.

Here is the end of the series.
It happen at 7:15 this morning.
I thought that I gave enough time and thought he was in front of the camera, but he was off the the side too much.
You can see me in the tree in the back ground and where I picked up my arrow.
He actually is a very small frame deer and should have passed on him.
Though I am out of hamburger and the series of pictures of him along with the kill makes him a trophy, not a giant, but a trophy.
Any meat kills for now on are does and buck need to be big.
Thanks guys for following along.

Hunt4Life23 09-13-2010 05:51 PM

great sequence of pics to have for a buck you end up killing, very cool! Too bad he wasnt in the pics when you shot but thats still awesome. he is a nice looking buck, congrats

PastorJim08 09-14-2010 03:29 AM

Hey congrats. there's nothing like taking an animal that you have such a history with. Really surprizing to me that he would still have his velvet this late in the month. I hope this doesn't mean you are done for the year.

Blessings.....Pastorjim
