Adventures in Trailcamming
Went to check cameras today. I had 4 cams out, the Cudde, the homebrew, the Stealthcam, and the Trophycam. Here is the tally after 16 days. Cuddeback; 6 pics, homebrew; 150 pics, filled card, Stealthcam; 450 pics, Trophycam; 100 videos. I retrieved Cudde first and it had six pics, pretty disappointing. Next went to the homebrew and it was absolutely full of the smallest ants I have ever seen. They and their pods were all through-out the case and the inside of the battery holder. Went around to other side of property to retrieve the other two cams and when I opened the door of the security box on the Stealthcam, there was a pile of shredded foam laying on the bottom of the case, I have a large piece of foam to stablize the camera but it's on top of the camera. So when I saw the pile of foam on the bottom, I knew there was probably a mouse at work. Sure enough, when I puleed the camera out of the box, there is the mouse, scaring me as bad as I scared him. Cam did have over 400 pics though. Next went to Trophycam. No adventure there, just swapped cards and set it to take stills. Lets see, 90 degrees, biting flies, mosquitoes, ants, mice, and sweating like a pig. Someone please tell me how much fun I'm having again.

Nice pictures! Got some growth going on.
I want to make a home brew so so soooo bad. I asked my mom if I could use her digital camera to make one. :D That didn't go over to well. |
Nice looking trail cam pictures PJ.I got a few good pictures of 4 different Bucks on my Moultrie Camera's....all 4 had a good start of Antlers! :D
Pope94....go on E-bay and buy yourself a cheap Digital Camera and set yourself up a Homebrew Camera!I'm sure PJ could line You up and show You how to make one and you could do it a little at a time! ;) |

Nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. The 2009 Bushnell Trophy Camera has a soft plug in the bottom for the external power supply. Some of them fit rather loose, so I check them when checking or setting out the camera. If one wasn't using the external port, a dab of silicone will hold the plug in. This is still removeable for later use. Wild View Ez Cam has a much better plug.

great pics, man I really have to set aside some time to try the homebrew idea, they look great!!!

PJ, it looks like the Cudde is pointed too high, IMO
remember the sensor come is EXTREMELY narrow, in order to center the deer in the frame. |
