What would you do??
i have been putting corn out for the last 2 months, not a lot just about a gallon every 2 weeks. right now i have a 6 bags of 50lb water softener salt and 2 trophy rocks. also i have 2 salt licks, so basically 3 bags of salt and a rock per site. my question is what order would you use them in??? salt then rock or vice versa?? i want to use the trophy rock at the best time when the most deer come in so they like it enough to come back, and use the salt just to get them to keep coming. just curious what you guys would do? thanks!!

I would use the water softener salt first.

Yep, same here. |
If you put the salt down first, it will leach into the ground and the deer will continue to return.

What everyone else said...use the salt now,I have Deer using my salt block pretty well year round. The Trophy Rock will take longer to be worn down/used up and they will get more out of it as the weather gets warmer. ;)
Oh yeah...isn't this illeagal asking a salt/mineral question in the trail camera section? :D |
i plan on using my corn for a few more weeks until its gone and then using the salt until i start seein some antlers popping out up and then use the rock.
