IR Flash??s
Does the IR flash seem to spook the deer in your pictures. I have an IR camera and as the pictures progress it seems like the deer get jittery. Especially if I have the camera in a three shot burst, but even when it's set to take pictures every ten seconds.

In my experience it doesn't seem to make any difference between IR and white-flash. While they don't seem to actually spook, they do stand and stare at both types of flash. When I have the cameras set on a multishot mode they seem to be curious and sometimes even walk toward the camera as they are having their pic taken. Now the black or invisible flash cameras may be different but I have no experience with any of these cameras.

I get alot looking at my IR flash, but it doen't seem to scare them any.
There is the new black out IR ( not red ). They say you can not see anything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uChZi...=1266437121.69 |

Doesn't seem to affect the deer so much, but the Yotes get spooked easy

I don't mean to imply that it will scare every deer. I have lots of pictures of deer standing around sniffing an IR cam as it flashes in their face. But to answer the original question, yes some are definately spooked by red flash as the photos demonstrate.
There is a good read about the experiences of others here. http://www.chasingame.com/forum/view...hp?f=1&t=14484 |
I have had more Deer spook away from the regular flash than the IR flash/glow!Personally I think the Deer are more aware of the light "click" on my Moultrie I-60 when the camera goes off.I have several Deer that start to step into the line of the camera then back up and circle around and come in a few minutes later.
