Old Moultrie Photos

For those who may enjoy this sort of thing:

These were taken a couple of years ago with a Moultrie DGS-160. The bait was beaver. (Cropped to remove the date/time stuff.)

Awesome pics, they sure are better then the ones I get out of my moultrie.

Thanks to all.

The beaver bait attracts a good bit of activity. I put together this video slideshow from the Moultrie as an example. I was planning to show 24hrs. but the software wouldn't cooperate. This was the best I could do.

I'm not sure if this will work but I'll give it a try.

Tip: Stake the bait. :D

Did you secure it some way to the ground, so they could not pull it off?

BowNC 02-14-2010 08:48 AM

Hi AR Bowhunter.

Yes, I used a (home made) trap stake, a piece of rebar about 14" long with a carriage washer tack-welded about an inch from the top. I drive the stake into the ground just about to the washer and use trap wire from the stake to the hind leg.

If a bobcat drags the bait away it usually doesn't take it very far, just away from the camera. If the coyotes get it loose you can kiss it goodbye.

Hi all.

Just thought I would mention....

For the folks that enjoy this type of thing, I have a thread in the Video & Photography forum called "Nocturnal Wildlife Photography" you may find interesting.

I didn't think it was appropriate for this forum because the photos were (technically) not taken with a Trail cam. It's basically a more sophisticated trail cam "system" I've been working with. :)

Later,
BowNC
