Scent left on camera...

..well usually i move my cameras and check the memory cards and settings and what not without gloves because the ones i have are thick and i cant get done whats needed with them....i was just curious to if you guys thought that scent would be left on the camera?? and if so how would it affect the deer?? i have alot of pictures where the deer are inches away from the camera sniffing or just staring at the camera...im not sure if this is because of scent or what..?? thoughts!?:happy0001:

I used to spray'm down after swapping cards with my dead down wind stuff but I stopped doing that and saw no difference.
I'd say your scent goes away pretty quick.

Doesn't seem to bother the deer around here. I don't wear gloves when placing or checking mine. I usually place them while hunting, so I am usually kind of scent free.

I've had deer stare at the camera area and even sniff it. Now, with the deeper snow, 1 1/2 to two feet in the bush, the deer are even following my trail to the camera. I guess they find it easier than making there own trail. One even walked right by the camera brushing it with its body. Rain, humidity, fog, snow or wind will disperse scent pretty quick. As mentioned above, I use bare hands to set up or work with the camera. This may not be the best, but try removing an SD Card or changing time, date etc. wearing gloves. Just an idea: one could wear latex gloves as they fit pretty snug.

I walk back the same path most every day to check my camera and I do nothing to eliminate my scent. I have one picture of a deer that I can't sex because it is too close to the camera. Several other of coyote sitting right in front of it. So I'd say whatever scent I leave behind on the camera doesn't seem to be bothering the wildlife too much.
