Default IR scrape video

This video is from an IR video unit i built a couple years ago. I put it on a scrape 2 weeks ago and here is what i got. The setup is strapped on the same tree as the scrape, literally 6 feet from their face. Here are some of the larger bucks. Not exceptional, but nice none the less. For some reason the audio wasn't there the first couple clips but comes in after that.

Sony TR517, Pix LE board, Hong Kong IR array running on 12v.

Great vids thanks for sharing. We sure can learn alot by watching all those different bucks visiting the same scrape.

Sweet videos. Watching those makes me want to set my cameras to video instead of pictures. Videos are so much cooler and you can learn alot more about the deer.

Do you happen to know anybody from muscatine that comes up to iowa county to go shotgun hunting? On the indian grass hills property? Or most people just call it tree huggers.
The reason I ask is because every year we are unable to hunt their land because its too dangerous! And we asked the owners of the property who was all hunting that and they said some people from muscatine and some from wisconsin. We neighbor their land and we have hunted there for the past... idk how many years.. but a long time. And the last year or two we haven't been able to. Everytime we try we pretty much get shot at. I swear if counted, their would be a serious of shots about every minute. We are almost scared to even go on the land. Also, the people are shooting anything and everything they see. Every once in awhile we will come accross a deer with its head cut off. And sometimes we will find a dead doe or dead little buck just laying their out in the middle of no where, like someone just left it there because it wasn't big enough. Its really getting old and we hate to be a "tattle tale" but we talked with the owners about it when they were out burning the grass and they were already thinking about closing down the shotgun hunting there.

Sorry to hear about your problems with other hunters there. Hopefully it isn't because of our local hunters. Those type of people give us bowhunters a black eye. I don't know anyone that shotgun hunts up there. Most of my friends are bowhunters. But i do know shotgun seasons and deer drives are a very important part of Iowa deer seasons. I only shotgun hunted two years, one on public land, and that was one helluva free for all. Alot of people do it. Personally, i would be to afraid to do it too because of all the flying lead.

All depends on how much you can get the videocamera for. I got mine for about $50. There are many different Sony Hi-8 videocameras that would work. I may have $250 to $275 total into it.
