Trail camera "delay"

Im sure this question has been asked many times, couldnt find it searching the threads, so here it goes.....Do all trail cams have to wait a period of time before taking the photo? I am using one that waits 30 seconds ( the minimum delay setting) so, it isnt taking pics of anything that dosen't stop at a bait pile. I know some deer are using the area but im not capturing them on film. Any help?

In general, once it takes a pic, it will go to sleep mode, then be ready to take another pic depending on the delay time your chose. What cam do you have and can the sensitivity be adjusted? How is the placement of the cam?

Check out the "delay" of the Reconyx models.... there basically is NONE. It will fire off as many photos as you want. I'm simply amazed at how many more photos our Reconyx cams will catch compared to all of our other trail cams!

I'm using a Wildgame IR-4 , It was cheep so thats what i settled for. Its lowest delay is 30 seconds, i have some great shots, but i have a few that have no subject by the time it shoots the pic. Just wondered if they were all like that but from IL-Cornfed's answer, i guess its just this brand. Like i said, i have some great pics from this one.

I'd say the reason you're missing pics with the Wildview is because the trigger is so slow.
You get what you pay for.

You couldn't be more right pnut.....It does take some good pics, i have a few bucks visiting at night. If only i can get them to visit during the hunting hours,,,,I'll be waiting for them for sure!
Thanks for the input

He has the WildGAME cam not the Wildview which even though is low priced has one of the better trigger times of all cameras. It's about a 1 second trigger time. The delay setting is how long it waits between taking pictures. It will snap the first picture in about that one second trigger time.
