Default problems with stealth prowler

when i first got my prowler it wouldnt take color pics. sent it back they kept it forever. finally got it back took nice color pics in yard. now that i have put it back out the daytime pics. are excellent but night pics are competely black. i noticed that something has been chewing on the shutter button knob.
the daytime pictures are still very good. brought camera in checked it at night the ir doesnt come on at all. would this be caused by the chewed shutter button or maybe they they left the ir unhooked when fixing cam the first time. hasnt taken 1 night time pic since being repaired. im not sure if they will honor warranty since has been chewed on.
also anyone else have problems with them getting chewed on this is a first for me
thank you
