New trail camera
#1
Well the ants finally got to my camera and ruined it, so its time for a new one. Just looking for some suggestions on a good camera. I was thinking about going with a cuddeback, but dont know which model to settle on. I was thinking about maybe getting the no flash or the IR. Opinions wanted.

Save money in the long run and buy a Reconyx! I've honestly bought dozens of trail cams and only wish I would have saved the money on the Leaf Rivers and Cuddebacks and bought more Reconyx cams! They are FAR superior in every repect, from trigger time to photo quality. As any reviews will tell you, they are the top of the line. I look forward to the next one I can afford.

IL-Cornfed is right, the Reconyx is by far superior to anything else out there if you have the money. I don't think I would buy a Cuddeback IR. The night pics I've seen from those are not very good. The Cuddeback capture's pics are great but not the capture IR. I don't know what you have to spend but IMO there are several good cameras in the $200 range. ie Moultrie I-40, Cuddeback Capture, and the Bushnell Trophycam. But if you do have between 5 and $600, then the Reconyx is definately the best cam out there. Whatever you end up buying, just enjoy it for what it is, a great hobby!

We really like our Scoutguard SG550. Especially for $200 plus accessories. I usually use the video mode. It's incredible to get a big buck just strolling in front of the camera. I've posted a couple movies if you look under my name.

Save your money. I will be buying my 4th one next year.
