SC-550(pictures added)

I got it today and it is smaller than I thought.

Looks good, you cannot turn the night mode off and it does burst of 3. It appears it can only be set to take 3 burst.

Will put on this weekend for a test.

You are right. You can not turn off night mode. However, you can adjust the picture burst to 1, 2 or 3. Go thru your menu settings and adjust it there.............

Post some pics when you get it out there...........

The only pictures I got from it. Note how far the first turkey is past the camera.

Any suggestion? Am I doing something wrong?

RE: SC-550

Well my guess is why you got blank pics is because of the brush in the lower left hand corner of the pics, if the wind was blowing the movement of that brush could have set it off, i also saw alot of leaves on the ground. In the pic where the 1st turkey is almost out of view, the size of the turkey and the height of the camera have alot to do with it. Note how on the pic where you and your friend or you and the girl walked past the pic snapped correctly.Thats just my opinion though. I have 2 scoutguards and when set up correctly i've had no problems.

RE: SC-550

leadoperator is right on. That little branch with leaves on the lower left corner will trigger the cam if the wind starts to move it. Also the leaves can trigger it if a gust of wind blows thru and moves the leaves. How do you have your cam mounted? Is it a small tree that can wave back and forth if its windy? That would set it off as well.

RE: SC-550

The pictures seem to be consistent to me (trees are in the same spot every time), that would rule out tree sway,

It could be because of the brush, but i thought these cams were supposed to detect an infrared heat change i order to trip, not just movement,

The camera might be mounted at a bad angle...still shouldnt take blank pics

Me too, I am going to go move it today and see what happens.

I could swear my cudde/moultrie/deercam/stealth all had infrared sensors that detected heat...maybe not, but among the many problems none of them were blank pics :)

I dunno about moultrie/deercam/stealth but i do know cuddeback has a motion sensor (im not saying it doesnt have a heat sensor, i dunno ). When i set up over water with my Capture i'll sometimes throw rocks out in the water to see how far it will take a pic, or if the wind is blowing hard over the water and the waves get big enough it will take pics of the waves if the cam is set to low to the water.
