Great pics. Maybe I never noticed bucks with horns this late cause I wasn't on this forum until August of last year, but it sure seems strange to me. Maybe there's someone out there with some insight.

I can't really give much for as far as insight goes. I did shoot a buck a quite a few years ago that had a pale rack with a couple of broken tines and a split beam. I was assuming it was left on all year by the condition and the pale color of it. I also saw a moose one spring when coming back from fishing that was still carrying a rack. It was a large rack on it and I do not think it had dropped it either as it was mid May when myself and a friend saw it. I think sometimes they just do not loose them for some reason or another.

If they don't drop soon will they get pushed out like baby teeth or will new ones grow around the old? Strange things happenin in them woods

If it keeps them on for the next month I do not think it will loose them at all. This happens sometimes but, I really do not know why. It is supposed to be rare for this type of thing to happen though. I can not explain why they will from time to time but it does happen.. New antler growth should be starting right now in most cases so it's really anyones guess..

I thought early/mid april was when the last of the bucks lost their antlers. i don't think it's that uncommon for them to have them in the first week in april. i have pics a couple years ago of a buck in early april w/ antlers too. they'll lose them shortly.

I've never paid too much attention, i have seen them carrying as long as Easter, but after that i dont get back there for awhile.
