35MM Game Camera Gift
For Christmas, a buddy gave me a Stealth Cam MC2-GV game camera. While I appreciate the gift and don't want to look a gift-horse in the mouth (whatever that means), it is a 35MM trail cam. I didn't even think they sold 35MM cams any more. Once I went digital, I said I'd never go back.
It got me wondering, why would anyone want a 35MM cam, as opposed to a digital cam? I've seen the 35MM cams still selling out on the auction sites and people are buying them. I know you can get them for cheap now, but with the added cost of film, developing, and the hassle, what would make someone still want to buy film-based cameras? |

trade it in towards a new digi you can get them pretty cheap i have a wildview i got for $49 it is a 4 megapixel cool pics for the price.

them 35mm are getting expensive... u still have battery costs but you also have film AND processing costs . All that for a max of 36 pics. My cam has shot almost 700 pics in the past 4 days. I can pick and choose which to keep. Film just doesnt make sense anymore... not sure why anyone would buy one.

You can't even buy a new 35mm cam anymore.
They can't be worth anything anymore with the price of film and processing and the fact that you can only store 36pics max. My digital takes about 400 a week in the fall. |

You got an obsolete camera. Costs too much to run. Maybe put it way, way, way out in the forest and try to catch Bigfoot or Sasquatch on it, that way nobody can accuse you of photoshopping the 35mm pics you get.

I have 3 digitals and 2 35mm's and I have gotten most of my best pictures on the 35's.

I know you can get them for cheap now, but with the added cost of film, developing, and the hassle, what would make someone still want to buy film-based cameras? in all honesty i have 10 35mm stealths and 2 i390's.... the main reason i have so many is because i only hunt public lands and cannot always get out to scout...so, i put lots of cams up and leave them out for quit a while to see what is in and or around the areas i plan to hunt... i can leave the 35mm up for about 25-30 days at a time and i only leave it up before season for about two months..so my cost is not too much...for people who leave theirs up all year or or on "farms" or have food plots of feeders then NO don't get 35mm's......but for those who only hunt public land and get few pics and want to scout lots of areas i highly recommend it. |
