RE: Black Bobcat in southern Ohio
everyone is making good points. i agree the pic could be slightly shaded and appearing darker then it really is. i had deer doing that last spring. it has the head shape of a bob and its awefully deep through the chest area. has a really big rump and beefy looking rear legs......i dunno. the bobcats we shoot up here have shorter tails then that pic by a long shot although that dont mean much...someone also said they dont move during the day..??? thats when we shoot ours and see them during deer season out and about so i wouldnt put much into that either.
my guess, bobcat to some degreelook some tracks in the area. get a beaver tail and wire it to a tree and get some better pics. prove to us all what it reallyis!

I see bobcats here in Louisiana pretty regularly and it does look to be the right size, shape and features of a bobcat. My theory on the color is it looks like the cat is between the sunlight and the camera, so that side of the cat is shaded. The trees also look darker than normal. Just an observation. Looks like a plain old bobcat in the shade to me.
