Resizing Photos to Embed in Post

How do I resize a photo using Photoshop 3.0 to get the file size small enough to embed in a post yet the picture the size of the ones that I see on here all the time?

I do not know but I use Corel paint shop photopro XI . I just bring the pixels down to where it matches the size of what you want it to match. Then save it.

not sure about 3.0.. I use photoshop cs2.. it has a menu across the top..(file edit image etc. etc.) when you have thepicture loaded....click on image..you should see a drop down menu..click on image size then enter the deminsions you want.
as i said tho.. i use cs2..not sure if 3.0 was like that or not.

I use a free program call IrFanView - very easy to use.
http://www.irfanview.com/

Open the .jpg in it, select Image and Resize.
I usually set my pics to 800 x 600 if posting here becaues of the 300kb limit.

I save the file somewhere else before resizing it though so I don't resize my master file.
