Moultrie Question??
What do you guys think about the Moultrie D-40?? I found a pretty good deal on two of them. My main concern is just to get a good idea of what is going on. The clearest picture is not a major concern. And I think I would rather have two, than one better one, but I would like opinions first. Thanks, Tom.

RE: Moultrie Question??
i've seen them on sale for $80 at my local cabelas - just so you know. $100 is the normal price though.
it's an ok camera. i would never recommend it to anyone unless they were really worried about theft. expect grainy pictures and short flash range. for the price it can't be beat. personally, i'd spend the extra for an i-40. |

RE: Moultrie Question??
ORIGINAL: bowmanaj The pictures aren't grainy. Im happy with mine http://i308.photobucket.com/albums/kk356/bowmanaj/trailcamandschool046.jpg http://i308.photobucket.com/albums/kk356/bowmanaj/trailcammidjuly078.jpg http://i308.photobucket.com/albums/kk356/bowmanaj/trailcamjune012.jpg compared to the d-40 the i-40 is absolutely incredible. WELL worth the extra $100 in my opinion. |
RE: Moultrie Question??
If you are not worried about having high quality photos, it is probably the best deal out there.

RE: Moultrie Question??
Rackluster.. Yea the flash range isnt great. Im looking into an I40 for next year, so its good to hear good things about them

RE: Moultrie Question??
My only complaint is the weak flash at night. Other than that, you cant beat the d-40 for the price. If you can put it close to the food source to get a still picture at night, the camera is great. I have three and havent had a grainy picture yet. Plus, the trigger speed is not horribly slow either.

RE: Moultrie Question??
Here is one take at night for you. My camera went thru the flood here, and it was flat on the ground facing up, taking pictures of sticks floating by on top of the water. I brought it home, and dumped the water out, dried everything off, and it still works fine.
