Moultrie m40

I bought this camera last year and never really had any problems with it. This year has been another story. I seem to be getting allot of whited out photos mostly at the dusk and dawn time. I don't know if its because the camera is using the flash and it shouldnt be so the photos are getting whited out, i have had one time where i had the same results when the photos were being taken during the middle of the day. Anyone else had any similar experiences with this camera?

Have you done the upgrades(if applicable). I guess that that will help with that. I have the m60 and it will only do it if there is a deer two inches from the camera

I was having this trouble on my I40 and M40. Try placing the camera facing either north or south. Cause of rise of the sun in the east and setting in the west will fool the camera in how much light is really needed. The tech support at moultrie gave me this bit of advice. Hadn't had trouble out of mine since .

thanks for the replys guys.

I usually aim the camera away from the rising and setting sun so i dont think thats the problem.

I see there is upgradeable software for it, i'll give that a try

thanks again.

The flash is super bright on the M40. I've found that I have to aim the camera on a downward angle to get better night time pictures. Never had the whiteout but definitely the bright flash. I'd also check the camera updates as well.

Moultrie has good customer service, give them a call if you can get it to work right.
